Story of the Cacoon

Sizes & Colors

How it's made

The Cacoon is available in three fun-filled sizes.  They range from large to small as shown in these images.  The Double an Single have a weight limit of 440 lbs, and the Bonsai is rated for a maximum of 220 lbs.  They are tested and hung in every type of environment - in the garden; on a hike; in the woods; by the coast; in the office;sports and leisure centre; bedrooms and dens; hotels and adventure playgrounds.  In fact, just about everywhere you could think of - inside and out.

As you'd expect from Nick and Sarah's background in the design and making of sails for ocean-going yachts - they are also experts in architectural fabric and textile technology for onshore structures.  All Cacoons are made to very exacting standards,  We use top grade fabrics, developed for the high demands of the marine and camping industries.  A mix of cotton and polyester help retain the soft feel of natural canvas while achieving the longevity of a technical fabric.  Each Cacoon is treated for anti-mould, UV protection and water resistance.

Cacoon!  One of the most sought out products at our farm.  Originated by Nick and Sarah - husband and wife team and owners of hang-in-out LLP, they were inspired to create the Cacoon after a Mexican holiday.  During a jungle trek they came across a colony of tiny hanging nests; safe little bolt-holes created by the Weaver bird.  After months of design, iteration and rigorous testing later, their interpretation was complete; the Cacoon.  Just like the Weaver bird, you too can hide away, sheltered and cocooned, but still in touch with your surroundings.

Where's yours hanging?
