This is a family story, begun by Jim and May Davidson on the craggy Maine Coast.  In the small town of Round Pond they, their family and neighbors craft wind bells that echo the distinctive and familiar tones of coastal and harbor bells.

For many years Jim worked as a lobsterman and spent countless hours on the water listening to the constant warning of bell buoys.  It occurred to him that others might enjoy the sounds as well, and he began recording these melodies from bells in many regions.  Then began the task of working pieces of recycled steel to match the tones.  Click on the link to the right to watch a video  or click the audio track to hear one of the many beautiful sounds from the family of North Country Wind Bells.

The Story

Welcome to the family of North Country Wind Bells!  The love of the sea and wilderness are portrayed in the designs and sounds of the wind bells and accessories.  Every product is designed and handcrafted by us and our dedicated employees in our extensive work shop on the beautiful and rugged coast of Maine.  Our passionate spirit is American made in Maine!

I fell in love with North Country Wind Bells twenty years ago when my father gave me my very first bell.  At the time, I had no idea the details of the company - but carried that bell with me through all my life journeys.  The sound is so soothing - taking me back to the shore where I spent many vacations as a child.  The steel design has weathered over the years but is still absolutely beautiful in it's simplicity.  Last year when I was researching key product partners I was so delighted to find them!  After reading their story, I was easily convinced.  Come by our store at Kospia Farms to see and hear them for yourself.  By choosing the size and sound of your bell and the addition of your select wind catcher - your bell will be unique for you!
